In the Summer of 2023, Christine Jones, creator and Artistic Director of acclaimed theater project Theater For One contacted me to make a standalone show that could be experienced by two audience members (and no performers) rather than the typical single audience member and single performer. I ended up heading down three separate paths which became three separate short shows, along with a looping soundtrack for when the set was on display at the Chicago Architecture Biennial. I wrote, composed, and designed the three shows to be experienced by two or even one audience member at a time, taking advantage of the perspex divider that had been added during the pandemic restrictions to reflect an audience member’s image back when no one else was on the other side.
