Experimental Devices For Performance

Experimental Devices for Performance (EDP) are a set of 5 five wearable, performance-oriented devices that provide the (un)intuitive control of on-stage media. They are a result of my graduate thesis project from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU. They include a polaroid camera that takes a selfie every time you blink (BLINKCAM), shoes that control the speed of music (PERFORM-O-SHOES), wireless sound effect gloves (TWITCH SET), a video camera-coated hat that transmits only when you slam your head into a television (FACEMASK), and a pair of video helmets that allow you to put your mouth on someone else’s face (PROLIXUS). Visit the out-of-date website or watch a short feature on EDP from the Wall Street Journal.
